Why employ a bookkeeper?
Bookkeeping is a necessary task whatever the size of your business. Keeping up with your books means that you can see how profitable your business is and to prepare for your tax liability. When books aren't completed until the end of the year in many cases receipts are lost and fluctuation in costs or profit/loss are picked up too late. If you are likely to reach VAT thresholds it is extremely important to keep up with your books as you need to register as soon as the threshold is reached and report VAT liability quarterly.
Bookkeeping can sometimes be put on the back burner as it is not a task most people enjoy and it sometimes seen as low priority. By employing a bookkeeper you can keep up with your business throughout the year and be more informed about how your business is operating and areas that could be improved. This frees you up to concentrate on your business or regain some of your spare time with the confidence that your bookkeeping is being looked after.

I offer two types of service - hourly billing or monthly packages.
Systems for Bookkeeping
I am trained in using Sage, Xero and Quickbooks for computerised bookkeeping but I am also happy to use Excel or other accounts packages. The system I use differs between clients and the size of the business and I am happy to use whichever system works best for my client and allows them to view their business transactions with confidence.
